Plein Air Towd Point
Towd Point is a quiet beach community.
Beautiful views of the bay, inlet, dune and marsh.
So many interesting views to paint.
Hugh set up with a view looking towards the bay.
What should I paint? Bay?
Or Marsh?
Perhaps the many interesting boats?
We ran into Megan Euell with a student.
They were painting the bay inlet view.
I decided to journey up the road towards the beach.
Near my favorite, the "whale house," to check out more viewing options.
My eyes went to the profusion of yellow cactus flowers.
They are called Opuntia humifusa
Common names: Low Prickly Pear, Smooth Prickly Pear, Devil's Tongue
They bear fruit, which is edible!
Another jelly making adventure?
I decided my paint the prickly pear in the foreground with pines framing the picture with the osprey nest in the distance. Just the groundwork laid en plein air. I will finish in the studio!
We didn't get that far along with our paintings.
I'll post them when we make more progress.
I've been making some updates to my website.
I invite you to have a look!
I think only one car drove past as I was working.
