Dan's Papers Cover Artist

I am honored to be the September 30, 2022 Dan's Papers cover artist!
The evening in Noyac was still, water reflecting the extraordinary clouds and sunset.
Looking out towards Clam Island, I could have chosen a dozen views to paint.
I begin with a toned canvas and a sketch in charcoal.
Thinking abstractly, looking for the darkest dark and lightest light, I work to describe the beautiful view in oil paint.
L'Heure Blue, Noyac
Oil on canvas, 12" x 16"
I always look forward to seeing each week's Dan's Papers cover art. Thank you so much for the honor of including me with a such great group of local artists!
